Fourth grade at Brown
At Brown, the fourth grade team ensures that all fourth graders have a consistent experience, even though our individual classrooms have different teachers and may have slightly different work on any given day. Our homework policy is grade-wide, we plan our lessons and units of inquiry together, and we participate in field trips and in-school educational experiences as a grade level. I am proud to be part of such a strong team.
I know that you want the best for your children. I expect my students to experience great success academically and socially this year and I am so excited to see them meet the increased expectations set for them in fourth grade! I look forward to a wonderful year.

arrival and dismissal
Adults, please make sure that your child arrives at school on time every day. Please also be sure that your child's schedule provides for 8-10 hours of sleep every night and enough time to eat a healthy breakfast every morning. We serve free breakfast at Brown every day for any child who wishes to have it.
Our school day ends at 3.45. If your child is in after-school care or in an after-school club, they are dismissed to walk to those meeting places. Otherwise, the students and I will meet you on the northwest corner of the playground. Please be on time to pick up your child, who will have had a long day and will be ready to see you at 3.45. If your child should be dismissed to anyone other than a parent or regular caregiver, or if they are to walk, please send me a note or e-mail to let me know.
